Paramedics Carr and Erbayri from A Platoon were proud to attend the grand opening festivities of the new Christiana Care Aston Campus this afternoon. The crew enjoyed touring the state-of-the-art facility and meeting some of the staff. We were especially happy to see so many of our former Crozer colleagues! We can't wait for the official opening in June!

We are honored to share that Aston Ambulance Authority was selected as EMS1’s “Photo of the Week” yesterday!

The photograph was captured by Police Officer/Paramedic John Ryan. Thank you to John for the outstanding photo and for helping highlight the work our paramedics do every day in service to our community.

At this week’s Aston Ambulance Authority Public Meeting, Chief Egan and the Board of Directors were presented a copy of the original EMS week proclamation by Frank Poliafico, RN. Frank is a highly accomplished Emergency Medical Care pioneer, who was instrumental in the development of the Delaware County, PA EMS system. He helped pave the way and put down the foundation for the Ems system that we have today.

Frank wanted this important document to forever be linked to our EMS Department as we continue to provide life saving Paramedic coverage through a locally innovative, multi- municipality EMS delivery model. We are proud to display this proclamation, which was authored by President Gerald R. Ford in 1974.

Today is Recognition Day for EMS Week. The Aston Ambulance Authority would like to recognize all of our team members who are driving our department forward. We would not be where we are today if it were not for the dedication and hard work of many team members who provide assistance behind the scenes. Besides the operational team that is responding to emergencies and taking care of our communities, we want to shed light that it takes a village for our continued and daily success. To every single team member who provides pivitol behind the scenes support: we thank you!

Wishing all those on the front lines a safe and healthy EMS week!

🚑 EMS Week 2026 - Thursday: Save a Life Day 🚑

Today, Aston Ambulance Authority proudly recognizes the dedication, professionalism, and clinical excellence of all of our AAA Paramedics.

While we deeply value every member of our organization and the countless calls they answer each day, we wanted to highlight two recent incidents that demonstrate the advanced level of care our paramedics are providing to the communities we serve.

These are more than just calls for service - these are lives saved.

❤️ CARDIAC ARREST SURVIVAL ❤️

On April 24th, 2026, Just 24 days into operations, Paramedics Erin Quinn and Emmy Shea responded as mutual aid ALS to Upper Chichester Township for a reported unconscious subject. The incident was quickly upgraded to a cardiac arrest. EMS Chief Bruce Egan also responded to assist.

Before ALS arrival, CPR had already been initiated by Boothwyn EMS and Upper Chichester Township Police and Fire Department personnel.

Upon arrival, Aston Ambulance Authority paramedics immediately began advanced cardiac arrest interventions. The patient was treated with aggressive lifesaving ALS Prehospital care including using our brand new heart monitor / defibrillator, the Physio Life Pack 35.

We were pleased to find out that this patient survived this life threatening event due to the prehospital care that was provided.

This was Aston Ambulance Authority’s very first cardiac arrest resuscitation effort - and the outcome was the best news possible:

A LIFE SAVED.

💨 CRITICAL RESPIRATORY EMERGENCY 💨

A second life saved earlier this month on May 3rd involved Paramedics Kevin Carr and Ali Erbayri.

Paramedic Carr was dispatched for a severe asthma attack involving a patient inside a vehicle.

Upon arrival, Paramedic Carr immediately recognized how critically ill the patient was and requested additional Paramedic assistance from our second ALS Unit.

After rapidly assessing the situation together, both paramedics determined the patient would require advanced airway intervention to survive.

Advanced airway protocols were initiated, which is a high-level procedure only permitted when two specially trained paramedics are present. Aston Ambulance Authority Paramedics are all trained to this standard, providing for the best possible outcomes.

This patient also survived this life threatening event.

Emergency Department staff and physicians praised the advanced level of care provided by Aston Ambulance Authority paramedics and credited the crews’ rapid clinical decision-making and interventions with significantly improving the patient’s outcome.

Without the actions and interventions of these paramedics, both of these patients may have suffered devastating outcomes.

Today, on EMS Save a Life Day, we simply want to say thank you.

Thank you to all of our Aston Ambulance Authority paramedics who answer the call every day, provide compassionate care during people’s worst moments, and continually strive for clinical excellence.

Your community sees you.
Your patients appreciate you.
And your organization is proud of you.
